Fast Appropriately and Break Every Stronghold!

God is indeed working on all of us. Some of us are willing to admit it, and others are not, but the truth is that we all need God’s help. That’s good news because God said this.

But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. – Jeremiah 17:7, NLT

We all need God’s daily help, but truly blessed are those who know it, seek Him, and trust Him for the victory.

In our lives, many of us are struggling with health issues, financial issues, relationship issues, family issues, and addictions that we try to live with. Yet somehow, we seem to think that if we stay busy, act normal, and don’t address our shortcomings, we can live through this.

We don’t realize that we could have achieved victory long ago if we would face the issue squarely and deal with it. Yes, sometimes we can’t do it alone. We need God and even human support to sort out our options and survive the recovery process.

It’s staggering when I look back at how many decades I squandered by ignoring critical shortcomings like relationship and financial issues. Today, I face new challenges, but the difference is that I know that I always have help. This is a promise from God!

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

– Ephesians 1:3, NLT

Meditate on the above scripture for a moment. Christians thought that this scripture meant that all blessings were spiritual but not natural. No! Our blessings are spiritual, but through faith, we can access whatever we need in our natural life. God planned our lives before we were born. He said that all we must do is ask Him for those good things we need, and He will provide them. We never worry about how He will do it. We just trust Him.

I love Philippians 4:6 because God tells us how He answers prayer.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. – Philippians 4:6, NLT

Prayer is where we start.

Finally, to break those stubborn strongholds, I’ve learned that fasting is very effective. Here’s what Jesus said about gaining mastery.

[But this kind of demon does not go out except by prayer and fasting.] – Matthew 17:21, AMP

Every stronghold may not be a demon who is oppressing us, but many are. However, any unwanted force in our lives that is resisting change can be overcome.

Recently, a woman of God was telling me that she wanted to stop smoking. I mentioned fasting to her, and she said she had previously gone on a 3-day fast but relapsed.

I shared that fasting will break strongholds, but the secret is that we must keep fasting

We must continue our fasting, believing, acting in faith, and praying until the stronghold is broken.

Once, I fasted for one year for a financial breakthrough. Of course, it was not a water fast. It was a partial fast where I gave up treats only. Giving up sweets and rich foods was difficult for me. During this time, I focused on eating healthy.

Finally, the financial stronghold was broken, and God gave me a mighty deliverance. I received a miracle!

If you are facing any obstacle in your life, even procrastination, ask God for help. If the obstacle is stubborn, do a partial fast until you receive deliverance.
